Group H Preview
Countries: Spain (2), Uruguay (16), Saudi Arabia (61), Cabo Verde (67).
The tournament favourites with the bookies, Spain will look to win their second world title, to pair with the 2010 World Cup.
A football powerhouse, Spain add one of the biggest names in teenage sensation Lamine Yamal to their already bolstered squad. They already have a plethora of Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga talent including names like Pedri and 2024 Ballon D’or winner Rodri.
Uruguay are a formidable South American football squad with a rich World Cup history. A few high-profile retirements bring a new age for Uruguay who are led by a veteran World Cup manager, Marcelo Bielsa.
Cabo Verde (or Cape Verde as we know them) are making their World Cup debut, and Saudi Arabia will look to replicate their 2022 World Cup where they shocked the world by defeating eventual winners Argentina.
They beat Lionel Messi’s team in the group stage, before elimination hence they could still go on to win the trophy.
Group H
Best Bet
It’s only a multi builder at this price but still, the number 2 world ranked side will take Group H. They may even enter the tournament ranked number 1 with an international friendly against Peru, tomorrow.
Uruguay are no slouch but that’s where the ‘group of death’ comparisons stop, with Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde simply making up the numbers.
That’s a bit harsh, they may still qualify, with the top eight third placed teams moving on to the group of 32.
