Despite their struggles over the last decade, North have enjoyed this match-up for a long time.

The Roos are 11-6 against Richmond since 2013, covering in 13 of those 17 games including five of the last six. The last two meetings have been blowouts, North winning by 48 in Hobart last year and by 75 at Marvel this year in their biggest win in years.

Richmond’s two wins have come against West Coast and Essendon, and in Round 1 they stormed home to nearly beat Carlton when the Blues couldn’t hold leads early in the season. Aside from that, they have lost each of their ten other games by 35 points or more. They are completely non-competitive against any decent side.

The jury is out on whether North are a decent side, but they should be far too good here.
