The second last event of the PGA Tour season sees us in Denver for the nomadic and time-honoured BMW Championship with defending champ Viktor Hovland primed to win his first title of the season.
Best Bet
Hovland won the BMW Championship last year and can go back-to-back. He ranks 4th in Putting Average, 8th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and 9th in Birdies. Won The Memorial last year. Ticks every box.
Mid-Tier Bet
Morikawa loves Nicklaus courses and that has him primed here. Finished 2nd at The Memorial and won the Workday. Ranks Top 10 in Putting Average and Birdies. A 4th at Valhalla is the cherry on top.
Value Bet
Billy Ho loves Nicklaus courses and has been trending upwards of late. Ranks 8th in Strokes Gained: Putting but notably 8th at Valhalla, 9th at PGA National and 15th at Muirfield Village this season. Lovely bet.
Longshot Bet
Castle Pines is going to require elite putting and McCarthy is one of the best on the PGA Tour. He ranks 3rd in Strokes Gained: Putting and 6th in Putting Average. Looks big value.
