UFC 320: Ankalaev vs. Pereira 2 Main Card Picks
Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira
It’s not easy to bet against former champion Pereira, but like many former light heavyweight champions, his time in the sun might have stopped.
Ankalaev showed why he’s the best when beating Pereira at UFC 313. He won by decision, but he outworked Pereira in the striking department, and although he couldn’t complete a takedown from 12 attempts, that could change on Sunday.
We expect the $1.45 favourite to take Pereira down to the mat at some point, and he’s likely to control the tempo of the fight. We’re backing Ankalaev because Pereira couldn’t land anything with big power, and if he can’t score a knockout win, he’s unlikely to win at all.
$1.45 is short, so we’re backing Ankalaev by decision at $2.40.
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Cory Sandhagen
It has been an impressive comeback from the career of Sandhagen, but the winning run is likely to come to an end at UFC 320.
The American faces Merab Dvalishvili, who is 20-4, and one of the hardest current champions to beat. The likes of Sean O’Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov have tried and failed, and he made O’Malley look silly in their two meetings.
$1.23 isn’t the best price for the bantamweight champion, so we’re taking him to win by submission at $8.75. That’s a big price for a fighter coming off a submission victory, so we’re happy to take the risk. Otherwise, include him in multis at the short odds.
Jiri Prochazka vs. Khalil Rountree
There isn’t much between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree, so we’re taking the better odds for Rountree at $2.43.
He comes off a one-sided win over Jamahal Hill, who he made look second-rate. That was an excellent performance from the resurgent fighter, who hasn’t given up on his dreams of fighting for the light heavyweight championship.
A win over the former champ could get it done, and although Prochazka has looked good recently, he has holes in his game. Therefore, we’re taking the better-value odds for the American.
Josh Emmett vs. Youssef Zalal
Most of the early money has come for Youssef Zalal, who defeated Calvin Katter in his UFC debut in February.
It was a solid UFC debut for the 29-year-old, who now faces 40-year-old Josh Emmett. He comes off a one-sided loss to Lerone Murphy, which isn’t an ideal form guide for this fight, and that’s why he’s an underdog.
Punters get $3.80 for Emmett, and although those odds are enticing, we can’t back him in this situation. Zalal should be too good, so we’re happy to include him in UFC picks at $1.27, despite it being a short quote from bookmakers.
Abusupiyan Magomedov vs. Joe Pyfer
We’re surprised to see Magomedov open as a $2.76 underdog, so we can’t turn down the value for the Dagestan fighter.
He won in April when beating Michel Pereira, which followed a submission win over Brunno Ferreira last year. Those performances were good, and a great way to bounce back after tough losses to Caio Borralho and Sean Strickland.
He has gone back to the drawing board, and it has worked, and although Joe Pyfer has been impressive lately, we don’t rate him as a $1.45 favourite. He could get taken down early, where Magomedov has the edge.
Take Magomedov to get the main card started on the right note.

UFC 320 Multi Bet
Our UFC 320 multi picks include four fighters, and the payout is generous. We’re including Ankalaev, Dvalishvili, Rountree, and Magomedov in our UFC picks.
The two champions are likely to win, so we’re not worried about including them. However, punters are taking a risk with Rountree and Magomedov, but the odds are too good to pass up.
We fancy them winning, and with the odds being $11.96, it’s well worth backing.
