UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. de Ridder Main Card Picks

Robert Whittaker vs. Reiner de Ridder

Most of the early money has come for Whittaker to win, and he has the experience edge, but we’re going against the Aussie in this situation.

De Ridder comes off a knockout win over Bo Nickal, and although Nickal aborted his wrestling and tried to strike with the Dutch fighter, it was still an impressive performance from a fighter who has steadily risen the ranks.

He also submitted Kevin Holland earlier this year, so it has been a busy 2025, and he could cap it off with a big win over the former champion at odds of $2.24. That’s a good price, and although we love Whittaker, his time in the sun could have come to an end.

Win

Petr Yan vs. Marcus McGhee

It doesn’t seem that long ago when Petr Yan was champion before losing his belt due to an illegal strike. The bantamweight fighter hasn’t been the same since, but he should have the class advantage over Marcus McGhee.

McGhee is 10-1 following a decision win in November last year, and although that was a good performance, he has never faced someone with the class of Yan. McGhee is also the older fighter at 35, so Yan has that advantage.

He could make another run at the title, so take the $1.70 odds for Yan to win by decision.

Sharaputdin Magomedov vs. Marc-Andre Barriault

One of the shorter favourites on the card at $1.14 is Sharaputdin Magomedov, who carries the Magomedov name with pride.

The 15-1 fighter lost to former Bellator champion Michael Page earlier this year, which was a shock loss for the Russian. However, it was a close fight, and he landed more significant strikes, so he didn’t get the rub of the green.

Barriault is not Page, so he should find this fight right up his alley. The odds are short, but there is better value with the $1.74 for the favourite to win by KO/TKO, and he has some heavy hands that he’ll put to good use.

Asu Aimabayev vs. Jose Ochoa

Jose Ochoa was a late replacement for this fight, but he has attracted attention at $2. The 8-1 fighter could make the most of his opportunity on Sunday, and his reach advantage is another positive.

Asu Aimabayev is a 21-3 fighter, so he’s good enough to warrant a main card fight. He is a $1.80 favourite, but there is more momentum with the underdog, and it often pays to follow strong betting support in the fight game.

Our money is with Ochoa to take the win. The 24-year-old could make a name for himself at UFC Fight Night.

Win

Nikita Krylov vs. Bogdan Guskov

Reach matters a lot in the light heavyweight division, and that advantage goes to Nikita Krylov.

The 33-year-old owns an impressive 30-10 record, and although Bogdan Guskov has heavy hands, Krylov should get the better of him.

Krylov looks to bounce back after being knocked out by Dominick Reyes, but he was considered good enough to take on Reyes at UFC 314. That was never going to be an easy fight, so credit him for taking it on.

Punters get $1.53 odds, which is a fair price to include in UFC picks.
