UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs. Reyes Main Card Picks

Carlos Ulberg vs. Dominick Reyes

We labelled Ulberg as a rising star when he competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, and it’s good to see the Kiwi living up to his potential.

He improved to 13-1 with a win over Jan Blachowicz, and that’s an excellent form guide. He went three rounds to win by decision, which shows that he’s not just a knockout fighter. His confidence levels should be sky-high following that win in March, and bookmakers agree.

Ulberg is the $1.39 favourite to beat Reyes, who scored a first-round KO against Nikita Krylov at UFC 314. That was a top knockout win, which made it three consecutive wins by KO since losing to Ryan Spann in 2022.

This is a tough test for Ulberg, but he should win and get a potential title shot next year.

Win

Jack Jenkins vs. Ramon Taveras

This fight was promoted to the co-main event after Junior Tafa pulled out of his fight, and it gives Australia’s Jack Jenkins a good chance to impress the home crowd.

Jenkins looks to bounce back from a loss to Gabriel Santos, where he was submitted in the second round, but he looked better when knocking out Herbert Burns last year. If he’s anywhere near that form, he could beat Ramon Taveras.

Most of the early money has come for Jenkins to win at $1.35, so he’s a good UFC multi bet pick against Taveras, who was beaten by Davey Grant in his most recent fight. That’s not the best form guide for a UFC Fight Night co-main spot.

Jack Jenkins
Win

Jimmy Crute vs. Ivan Erslan

There isn’t much between Jimmy Crute and Ivan Erslan, with Crute opening as the $1.51 favourite with bookmakers.

Crute is the local fighter with plenty to prove, and his career is heading in the right direction following a submission win over Marcin Prachnio at UFC 318. Winning on a PPV card was big for the 29-year-old Australian, who has always promised to elevate to the next level.

Ivan Erslan doesn’t have as much upside following a loss to Navajo Stirling at UFC 315. He’s 0-2 since arriving in the UFC, so we’re not enticed by the $2.57 odds for the underdog. The safer bet is a fired up Crute.

Jimmy Crute
Win

Jake Matthews vs. Neil Magny

One of the shortest favourites on the UFC Fight Night card is Jake Matthews, who is another Australian fighter with the world at his feet.

The 22-7 fighter is enjoying a purple patch of form following three consecutive wins, and he has put himself into title contention for the welterweight title. A win over Neil Magny would take him close, and he’s the $1.19 favourite to beat the American.

Magny can’t be overlooked as an underdog, especially after fighting only last month when knocking out Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos. Magny is professional as they come, so Matthews will need to be at his best to win.

However, he’s fighting well, and his winning streak should continue. Back him to win by decision.

Jake Matthews
Win

Tom Nolan vs. Charlie Campbell

We were impressed with Charlie Campbell’s UFC debut when beating Trevor Peek. He landed 100 total strikes and completed four takedowns, which makes him a versatile fighter.

Tom Nolan has also been good since arriving in the UFC, posting back-to-back wins, but the $1.64 odds are on the shorter side.

We expect this fight to go to the ground, where Campbell could out-work Nolan. Take the $2.27 odds are value bet to kick off the main card on Sunday.

Charlie Campbell
Win

UFC Fight Night: Ulberg vs. Reyes Multi Picks

We have four fighters included in our UFC Fight Night multi, including Ulberg in the main event.

The Kiwi should get past Reyes, and we’re going for an all-Australasian multi for this Sunday’s action, including Crute, Matthews, and Stirling.

All four fighters are favourites to win, and they should give punters every chance to cash. If you want to boost your odds, include Campbell, which takes the odds from $3.57 to $8.10.
