UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Figueiredo Main Card Picks
Cory Sandhagen vs. Deiveson Figueiredo
Cory Sandhagen is the $1.20 favourite to defeat the former champion, and although that’s shorter than we expected for the American, he should win the fight.
He took on the might of Umar Nurmagomedov last year, and he deserves credit for taking that fight. It wasn’t smart for his record, but it was smart for getting future big fights. He held his own in that fight, and it was only the takedowns that got him.
He has the edge over Deiveson Figueiredo at this stage of their careers, and punters get better odds of $1.66 for Sandhagen to win by decision.
Reiner de Ridder v. Bo Nickal
Bo Nickal is an exciting fighter, and although he has copped criticism for taking easy fights, it’s largely out of his control. The UFC are protecting his unbeaten record and his image, and it’s because he’s the next star.
Reiner de Ridder is a good fighter, so this is a step up in competition, but all Nickal must do is take him to ground and it’s all over. Nickal is a champion collegiate wrestler, and he’s one of the best wrestlers to step inside the Octagon.
$1.30 odds are available for Nickal to win, but the best value is by submission, which pays $6. That’s an insane price for a fighter who will look for a submission throughout the fight.
Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Daniel Rodriguez
Money has come for Daniel Rodriguez, who is now a $2 chance to beat Santiago Ponzinibbio. However, despite a close fight being predicted, we’re taking the value $1.80 odds for Ponzinibbio.
He has 31 wins on his 31-8 record, and he knocked out Carlston Harris without much fuss in January. Having already fought this year is a positive, and before the knockout, he stuffed five takedown attempts.
That’s an impressive performance, and we have never been enamoured with Rodriguez. He’s a solid fighter, but unsure if he’s worthy of a main card fixture.
Montel Jackson vs. Daniel Marcos
Montel Jackson is gunning for a knockout win, and the $1.50 favourite is our pick to get the job done on Sunday.
Jackson is the 15th-ranked fighter in the division and Daniel Marcos is a stepping stone fight to something bigger, which is why Jackson is the short favourite. However, despite being only $1.50 with head-to-head markets, punters get $4.50 for a knockout win.
Jackson took only 18 seconds to dispatch Da’Mon Blackshear, who threw only one punch before getting rocked. We can’t see Marcos doing much better, so take the value odds from bookmakers.
Cameron Smotherman vs. Serhiy Sidey
There isn’t much between Cameron Smotherman and Serhiy Sidey with UFC odds, with Sidey holding favouritism narrowly at $1.72. We agree with the odds, as we give Sidey the slight advantage.
He’s not our most confident pick for the UFC Fight Night card, but the Canadian is 11-2 following a decision win over Garrett Armfield, which is a tidy effort.
Smotherman also comes off a decision win over Jake Hadley, where he landed 96 significant strikes. Sidey will need to up his work rate, but he’s got better defence, and that should play its part in the bantamweight fight.
Jeremy Stephens vs. Mason Jones
Punters must take short odds for Mason Jones, who is all the rage to hand Jeremy Stephens a loss at $1.18.
There isn’t much value in the head-to-head odds, but punters get $2.37 for Jones to win by decision, which is a good price. Stephens likes to hang in there and make it tough for his opponents, and Jones doesn’t need to go head hunting.
It’s a good way to kick off the main card, and punters should feel confident with this pick.

UFC Fight Night Multi Picks
Nickal and Sandhagen to win are our best bets. We contemplated putting in Nickal to win by submission at $6 odds, but there is too much risk with that option, so take the $1.30 to win outright.
We’re also including Jackson and Miesha Tate, with the latter fighting on the undercard. Tate loves a big crowd, and she should fight her best.
The multi returns $4.20 odds, so it’s worth backing.
