Novak Djokovic v Cameron Norrie
Brit Cameron Norrie was the player that emerged from what was the weakest quarter of a Men’s Grand Slam event in recent history, with neither #3 seed Casper Ruud and #7 seed Hubert Hurkacz advancing beyond the second round. Credit to Norrie though, he’s been extremely consistent since last year with a 56-25 record in 2021 backed up by a 32-15 record this year.
But the reality is, Norrie is yet to face an opponent ranked inside the top 30 this tournament and now he’ll need to get past the #1 seed in Novak Djokovic. Coming off a genuine Quarter Final scare against young gun Jannik Sinner where he came back from two sets down, no doubt that hard fought win has sharpened up the Serbian ahead of his Semi Final with the Brit.
The two have only met once across their career – at last year’s ATP Tour Finals where Djokovic smashed Norrie 6-2 6-1. The Brit’s game is solid, but hard to see him making a dint in the Serbian’s game who should advance to another Wimbledon Final in less than 31.5 total games.
