It’s Women’s Semi Finals Day and although the two high seeds are highly favoured to advance to the Wimbledon Final, I think we could see an upset.

Anisimova’s record against Sabalenka is very strong at 5-3 across their career, with the American’s ability to match the world number one for power.

I had my concerns with Sabalenka from a mental perspective after dropping the French Open Final to Gauff, and although she’s in the Semi Finals at Wimbledon it’s been far from convincing. In fact, the Belarussian has failed to cover her game handicap in the last four matches she’s played, and every single match she’s played this tournament has gone over total games.

In terms of service and return points won, she’s at 108.7% – in her six wins at Roland Garros she was at 114%.

Anisimova is marginally ahead on service points won this Wimbledon, and comfortably ahead in return points won, giving her a rating of 111.7%. I have no doubt she will fall back on her career record against Sabalenka, as well as take some notes from Siegemund’s Quarter Final performance, and really take it to the world number one.

Belinda Bencic has had an incredible tournament off the back of childbirth last year, and although her record against Swiatek is solid, I just cannot go past Iga in this.

The Swiss appeared to be limping quite badly for a lot of the second set, resulting in Andreeva losing it off her own racquet.

Bencic did force three sets in their 2023 Wimbledon Round of 16 clash, but this is when she was 14 in the world and playing consistent tennis. Think the deep run will take a bit out of the Swiss against Swiatek who has gone from strength to strength this Wimbledon, only dropping the one set so far.
