Taylor Fritz is the last American hope standing in the men’s draw, but could he be in trouble when he faces an unheralded Czech?

I think the Czech can cause a major upset in this Round of 16 clash and disappoint the New York crowd when he faces Taylor Fritz.
Tomas Machac is yet to drop a set this tournament, and although the draw has been relatively friendly, he did beat rising star Joao Fonseca with ease in the second-round.
This pair have faced off twice over their career, and although the record says Fritz 2-0, the American needed five sets to beat Machac at Roland Garros in 2020 where the Czech was ranked 253 at the time, and at United Cup at the start of the year Machac won the first set before having to retire in the second set.
He’s clearly someone that troubles Fritz somewhat, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he caused an upset paying $3.

Elena Rybakina has lost both of her Round of 16 matches this year, albeit against tough opposition in Keys and Swiatek, but Marketa Vondrousova is a Grand Slam Champion so this won’t be any easier for the Kazakh.
Although the numbers indicate that Rybakina is in a great spot to win this match, the Czech is primed with tough wins over the emerging McCartney Kessler, and top-10 Jasmine Paolini. We’ve also seen Rybakina struggle against left-handers over her career, going 6-8 against left-handers ranked inside the top-60, while she’s been a top-20 player – over the last 12 months she’s lost to Leylah Fernandez twice.
At her best, Vondrousova is a top-five player in the world so it’s insane that we’re getting a 3.5 game head-start for the 2023 Wimbledon Champion.
Value Bet
There’s a couple of factors here – I think the Frenchman will start strong and fade the longer the match goes on as a 37-year-old, but also the fact Jiri Lehecka is a slow starter at majors.
The Czech has won the first set in just one of his last six matches at majors – five of those matches against opposition ranked outside the top-50.
These two have never met before, and with Mannarino having such a unique style of play it might take some time for Lehecka to adapt.

Djokovic (M) / Pegula (W) / Sabalenka (W) / Krejcikova (W) = $2.50
