Looks like it’s going to be a hot fortnight in London – Jannik Sinner’s kryptonite. Can the Italian win his first Grand Slam title of the year, or will we see a new contender emerge on the men’s tour?

I could take the easy option of Jannik Sinner at $1.45, but with the weather in London potentially hitting around 30 degrees during the second week, I’m happy to look elsewhere for some value – enter Jakub Mensik.

Now the Czech has also had his issues with the hot conditions, but he showed enough resilience and ability at Roland Garros where the 20-year-old could become an eventual Grand Slam Champion. He hasn’t shown much on grass over his career, but his game is suited to the surface.

In the bottom half of the draw, the easier of the two in my opinion, with Zverev coming off a French Open win, De Minaur and Shelton. This could be his breakout.

Another at a price, which surprised me immensely. Daniil Medvedev’s grass court career has been a roller coaster, but the Russian did reach the Wimbledon Semi Finals in 2023 and 2024, which includes beating Sinner.

Medvedev will need to get through the world number one in the Quarter Final, but that 2024 Wimbledon Quarter Final win over Sinner is their only grass court meeting across their career.

The Russian has put together a strong year to date, and I think he can genuinely surprise here.

Djokovic has barely played this year, but his grass court nous can carry him a long way this Wimbledon, along with an extremely kind quarter.

I don’t need to reel off Novak’s Wimbledon resume, which is why we get the $4.50 for someone that has only played 13 matches this year – but the major concern for mine is his ability to withstand two full weeks of tennis.

The Brit has failed to deliver at Wimbledon on multiple occasions – perhaps the lack of expectation leading into this year’s tournament could help Jack Draper?

Certainly had the game for the grass courts, and showed enough at Eastborne in the lead-up to suggest he’s capable of making a run.

We could see the match of the tournament in the first-round – Draper plays Taylor Fritz. If he can get past the in-form American in that, he could make a deep run.

When Jiri Lehecka is on, he can match it with just about anyone in the world.

We haven’t seen a heap of it at majors, at least consistently with the Czech reaching two major Quarter Finals, but in Zverev’s quarter of the draw I don’t mind Lehecka’s chances to go deep.

It’s been quite the task for players to win the French Open / Wimbledon double, which makes the German vulnerable entering the Championships – so Lehecka could be the giant killer.

Who knows what the Spaniard will do – but he is capable of being a surprise packet this Wimbledon.

Davidovich-Fokina has a solid grass court record over his career, and is in good touch leading in reaching the Final at Mallorca.

Featuring in the same section of the second quarter as Felix Auger-Aliassime is a genuine blessing if you wanted to be in the same part as a top-four seed, and who knows how Djokovic will travel physically.
