Extremely difficult match to measure with the teenage Russian the red-hot favourite in this, against an opponent no one had heard of a fortnight ago.

Maja Chwalinska came through qualifying, steamrolling her way through to the Final with wins over Mertens, Sakkari, Kalinskaya and Shnaider – but none of those are in the Andreeva ballpark.

The Russian was a Semi Finalist in 2024, and then backed it up reaching the Quarter Final last year. Since 2022, Andreeva has an impressive clay court record against top-200 opposition of 57-16.

As a top-50 player, Andreeva is 9-1 from her last ten matches against opposition ranked outside the top-100 – she’s covered the handicap of -5.5 in eight of those matches including all five in 2026.

Potentially unfair to put Chwalinska in this category, but she’s still ranked 114 for at least another two days. The occasion is enormous for the Swiss, against the form player of the tournament who has a standout serve plus return rating of 117.3 – well clear of Chwalinska’s 111.9.
