Aryna Sabalenka looks to make it back-to-back Australian Open titles.
Qinwen Zheng vs Aryna Sabalenka
The Belarussian was huge in the Semi Final against Coco Gauff which really felt like the Final, with Sabalenka just too good against the American especially on Gauff’s second serve.
Sabalenka won 61% of points on the Gauff second serve in the Semi Final, which doesn’t bode well for Qinwen Zheng. The Chinese has been winning around 50% of her second serves this Australian Open, but the main concern is the amount of second serves she has to serve – her first serve percentage is hovering around 50% which will give Sabalenka plenty of second serve looks.
Zheng incredibly hasn’t not just faced a seed this tournament on her path to the Final, she’s yet to face a player inside the top 50! This is going to be an enormous jump against the world number 2 who enters the Final primed with wins over world numbers 4 and 11. Sabalenka smashed Zheng in last year’s US Open Semi Final 6-1 6-4, and it’s hard to see how the Chinese can turn the tables and take a set off the Belarussian, or even keep this close.
