Doomben Racecourse, located in the suburb of Ascot approximately 11 kilometers from Brisbane’s CBD, is a venue steeped in racing tradition and history. Since its establishment in 1933, Doomben has been a staple of the Queensland horse racing scene.
Doomben is managed by the Brisbane Racing Club, which was formed as a result of a merger between the Brisbane Turf Club and the Queensland Turf Club. The club has been running races at the venue since 2009.
One of the most highly anticipated events at Doomben each year is the Group 1 Doomben 10,000, which draws top horses from all over the country to compete in the iconic 1200m race.
