All Blacks vs. France Preview
We have New Zealand vs. France predictions for the Nations Championship game on Saturday, July 4 at 5:10pm in Christchurch.
The Nations Championship kicks off for the first time, and it’s like a mini–World Cup. It’s great for rugby union, and it’s the All Blacks favoured to beat France at $1.22.
Best Bet

The All Blacks start a new era with Dave Rennie at the helm, and although they often play some of their worst rugby in the first game of the season, we expect them to win comfortably against France.
The French haven’t named a strong team, which continues a trend for them. It’s disappointing, but it’s the nature of the beast in 2026. These teams are preparing for the World Cup next year, so lineups will be tinkered with.
New Zealand will want to make a good first impression for Rennie, and it’s also the first test match played at One Stadium in Christchurch. It will be a huge occasion, and although it’s not the fortress of Eden Park, the All Blacks should feel comfortable.
We like the team Rennie went with, including Super Rugby standouts Damian McKenzie, Cam Roigard, and Ruben Love. They are missing some key players, which would have made a big impact, but as it stands, the All Blacks have strong team.
France looks overmatched in the opening Nations Championship game, and the All Blacks can pile on the points quickly.
Same Game Multi Bet

Will Jordan knows the stadium better than most players, having played for the Crusaders in Super Rugby. He had an injury interrupted season, but his try scoring record for the All Blacks is outstanding, so take the $2 odds for Jordan to score a try.
Caleb Clarke was a controversial pick for Rennie, but he’s backing the powerhouse. His form on and off the field has been suspect, but Clarke is a strong runner, and Rennie has opted for a power attack in the opening game.
It should be a high-scoring contest, which is why the line is at 58.5 points. We have the All Blacks winning 42-20, so include the over.
Value Bet

We would love to see Ethan de Groot score a try for the All Blacks, and the hard working forward could crash over from close range.
The prop had a big year for the Highlanders, and although his team didn’t fire, he is always a standout for the NZ franchise.
We see him picking the ball from the maul and scoring a close-range try at big odds.
