From barrier two Tom Stockdale should give him every chance ideally sitting just a little closer in the run out in trip and he should be too strong in an even race .

Affluential returns to Victoria after a Quixotic tilt at the Perth Cup which ultimately ended before he made it to the big race. Nevertheless he looks exceptionally well placed here first up given his terrific record over these 3000m plus trips both on the flat and over jumps. John Leek knows what it takes to get one fit for a trip like this and if he brings his best form he should just about be favourite – cracking bet at double figure odds.
