Racing is back at Sandown for a midweek twilight meeting, with the first race scheduled for 3.40pm on a track rated good. Our best bet comes from the Clinton McDonald stable.

Loved the run of Truffle Finder last start at Pakenham. In a very strong BM64 at Pakenham, he didn’t have much luck, but when he got clear running stormed home to nearly run down a short priced favourite. The gelding should be ready to peak third up with Ben Melham from barrier four.

Heavenly Conquest was heavily backed on debut at Flemington and while she was a touch disappointing on face value, I thought that given the severe check she copped she ran well to finish midfield. Expect the Maher trained filly to strip fitter and she can hopefully sit a little closer in the run this time.

Thought Call Him Iggy was nice value to potentially upset the favourite Enxuto in this one. He simply got too far back last time at Cranbourne but up in trip and from a favourable draw, he’s capable of sitting closer in the run. Enxuto will take some beating if he’s at his best, but if not then Call Him Iggy is the one to cause the upset.
