Racing Tips – Wednesday Best Bets for Sandown

Midweek racing is back at Sandown for a twilight meeting with the first race jumping at 3.40pm.

Best Bet

5. Tahlequah
Sandown R6 (6.30pm)

Tahlequah gets out to the 2100m for the first time and this should be the making of her. The mare has improved with each run this prep, most recently posting a third placing over the 1800m here three weeks ago. The runner up has since won. Expect Blake Shinn to go forward from the wide draw and prove too strong late.

Recommended Price: $3.20
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

8. Rocking The Boat
Sandown R1 (3.40pm)

Rocking The Boat looks well over the odds on debut. The Ocean Park filly comes off a nice trial at Cranbourne where she showed good speed to chase home the capable stablemate Warbirds. Suspect this maiden isn’t overly strong, she’s drawn well and looks well over the odds in a race of limited chances.

Recommended Price: $9.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. Princeofcambridge
Sandown R4 (5.25pm)

Princeofcambridge gets his chance to break through third up with Damian Lane riding. He was just held up at the crucial time last start at Geelong but wound up nicely late to run third. The extra trip looks ideal, he will just need a clever ride from Lane to overcome the awkward draw.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

9. Rockabilly Rebel
Sandown R8 (7.30pm)

Rockabilly Rebel is an intriguing runner in the last race. The filly, formerly trained in Sydney by Bjorn Baker, is having her first start for new trainer Patrick Payne. Her best Sydney form is certainly competitive here and at double figure odds makes her a very appealing bet.

Recommended Price: $8.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
