Ipswich will be sunny, warm and good, while heavy going will be the order of the day at Bendigo and Canterbury.
Best Bet
Bendigo 8/6 House Spouse (5:05pm)
House Spouse resumes from a spell here but won’t lack for fitness having had four jump outs to prepare for this, looking good in all of them. The grey was a brilliant debut winner on very heavy ground last year, expect him to be too good for this lot.
Recommended Price: $3.00

More Racing Tips
Bendigo 2/6 Tatsuro (1:35pm)
Tatsuro is first up for new trainer Gavin Bedggood and his jumpouts have been excellent, much better than the favourite here, Zumoradda, who was under the stick to overhaul a pretty ordinary galloper in hers. Zumoradda has some decent overseas performances but happy to take the gamble on Tatsuro.
Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5
Ipswich 4/4 The Billionaire (1:43pm)
The Billionaire is having his first start for new trainer Lee Freedman and the lightly raced for year old looks an ideal prospect for Queensland racing. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he typically runs well fresh and Freedman has an excellent strike rate at this track.
Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5
Canterbury 4/6 Smirk (2:35pm)
Smirk hit the line very well first up at Newcastle and looks well placed here. The last 100m of the race was her best part and Jmac takes over. Look for him to position the filly back of midfield and run over them late.
Recommended Price: $2.70
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
Bendigo 7/3 Brave Star (4:30pm)
Brave Star should be at peak fitness third up and will relish getting up in trip and back on to heavy ground. A winner on heavy in his native New Zealand, he gets a tongue tie and winkers on as well as the services of Johnny Allen. A race fitness edge over key rival King of Pharaohs can prove decisive.
