Scholl Deep was snagged back from the wide draw at his first run for new trainer Lindsey Smith but I am expecting a far more aggressive ride here. The gelding was a noted front runner when trained in NSW and Fred Kersley should be able to get over from the wide draw. Fitter today and down in class he should take plenty of beating in the last race.

Looks a race in two between Impactical and The Botany Fog according to the market but both of them are notoriously slow beginners so happy to have something on Merry Jack to cause an upset. His run at Warrnambool last time was better than it reads on paper and if he jumps as well as he did at the Bool, he should be able to find the front without much difficulty.

Friday at Five was outclassed in strong BM70 company at the Bool last time but she is capable of bouncing right back down in class today and on her favoured heavy ground, where she is a two time winner. She should get a fairly comfortable lead here and with a race fitness edge on key danger Cosmic, will take a lot of running down.
