The locally trained mare got well back in the run and was held up at the top of the straight, but made excellent ground when clear. His first up run at Ararat was excellent over 1300m then he just didn’t quite fire over 1500m at Caulfield Heath. Happy to look past that run, out to 1700m with a wider draw will suit and he is nicely weighted with just 54Kg.
