Mum’s The Boss looks well placed here at her first start for new trainer Michael Kent. The mare brings good Sydney form down here, most recently a fourth placing at Warwick Farm just prior to Christmas in a race that has produced a couple of subsequent winners. Kent has given her two jumpouts to keep her fitness up to the mark

French bred galloper Vartolomei should appreciate getting out to 2100m here. While the Maher/Eustace trained four year old hasn’t exactly lit up the track at his three runs, they haven’t been too bad either. Ben Allen should give him the run of the race in an ordinary affair.

Sticking with the Maher/Eustace team and in this race, Rich Glow. The three year old was sent out red figures on debut but happened to run into a very smart one, a stablemate Vienna Vixen. It was a good performance and with that under his belt he can win this.

Red Columbine put the writing on the wall with an excellent first up run at Cranbourne, chasing home the very smart Lady Adelaide. The speed map here is ideal for her, as the two other favourites in the market will likely take each other on up front, while she can sit off them and run over the top late.
