Akku did a great job last time at Pakenham chasing home Peridot Star, who confirmed the strength of that form by coming out and winning again in easy style. The gelding should be able to lead or at the very least be right on speed and prove too strong late.

Miss Winslet looks capable of upsetting the favourite here. The mare comes off a short freshen, but prior to that had run in a couple of strong metro races and was far from disgraced, but her best form is on top of the ground and she will get that here. Her recent trial was on point as well.

Like the last race, there looks to be a favourite with Blake Shinn riding that appears under the odds and Hellara is the one that can take advantage. She was good first up at Echuca when covering ground and just outsprinted over the 1000m, and she will strip fitter for that. Billy Egan just needs some luck from the draw to take a power of beating.
