Racing is on the synthetic at Ballarat on Tuesday where our best bet is an improving gelding who was a brilliant last start winner at Warracknabeal.
Best Bet
Dirt On Harry was a brilliant winner last start at Warracknabeal, coming from last and sprinting away from his rivals in a race where nothing else made ground and on very much a leader’s track. The son of Cluster and the tough staying mare Dirt Music showed good ability early – winning his first two starts – and he looks capable of delivering on it. If he repeats that effort and handles the synthetic, he just wins.

Nicconi Express gets a big drop in class from his first up run in a good form race at Sandown. The four year old was first up there in more than 18 months so should have improved fitness wise and McEvoy horses are notoriously hard to beat on this track.

Schuhbeck doesn’t win out of turn but he is generally consistent (placed 10 of 15 starts) and he comes off a very good last start second placing where the third horse has since come out and bolted in. Robbie Downey should give him a good run on speed and this isn’t strong. At 20-1 in early markets has plenty of each way appeal.

The Duke of Dubai was a brilliant debutant at Sale in September last year, beating subsequent city winners including Extreme Flight and Growl. He trained off a little after that but his recent jumpouts indicate that he has come back well. This is a handy enough race for a synthetic BM64 but suspect he is an above average galloper who can go close here.
