Perficere beat home the odds on favourite for this race, Deific, last start at Ararat and there seems to be every reason to think he can do it once again. Perficere was caught three wide without cover for most of the race and was conceding race fitness. The Paul Preusker trained gelding looks terrific value.

Let’s Sea disappointed a little when last seen but he should be a big improver here for two reasons. One is the prospect of a firmer track, the other is that blinkers go on for the first time. If he runs up to anything like his best, the Maher/Eustace trained gelding will win.
