Best Bet
Lonsdaleite returned with a very good performance at Geelong when finishing second. Despite being held up for much of the home straight, when he saw clear going he finished with gusto. Expect him to be fitter for that run and he strikes a winnable race here. The Clinton McDonald stable is flying at present.

Jessup is a half brother to the former Hong Kong star Southern Legend and you can expect him to be primed to impress some potential buyers on debut. The Grahame Begg trained gelding’s most recent jumpout at Cranbourne was very good and the form out of it has been excellent. Looks nice value to win here.

Beatty is an ex-Kiwi on his Australian debut and he has had four jumpouts to prepare for this. Interestingly he won the first of them before being given a much quieter time in his next three, From the inside draw he can kick up and get a good run either leading or just behind, and is capable of being in the finish.
Recommended Price: $9.00/3.00

In The Navy is a lightly raced filly resuming from a spell for Phillip Stokes. She was an impressive winner on debut back in January, and while she was a little disappointing since, her second to last jumpout at Pakenham was very impressive. From a low draw she can be highly competitive here at a good price.
