Racing Tips – Thursday Best Bets for Kyneton, Ascot and Pakenham

Pakenham - Expert Horse Racing Tips

Kyneton and Pakenham should be ideal racing surfaces while there is some rain around in Perth, but not enough to push Ascot out of the soft range at worst.

Best Bet

Kyneton 1/10 Savonia (1:30pm)

Savonia has been knocking on the door with placings at her last four starts and she looks primed to go one better in the opener from Kyneton. The winner of her last start confirmed the form with a subsequent Group 2 win. Robbie Downey should go straight to the front and take all the catching.

Recommended Price: $2.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

Kyneton 7/1 Magnum Bullet (4:30pm)

Local trainer Mick Sell has a knack of getting a winner on his home track and Magnum Bullet looks another likely type. The four year old drops in trip from last start and with Matt Chadwick claiming 4Kg he is well in. Look for him to press forward and take some catching.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3/5

Pakenham 4/6 Star Patrol (7:15pm)

Star Patrol is a new acquisition to the Clinton McDonald stable and has some excellent recent trial form in addition to having been placed in three of his six starts. Damien Oliver rides and should give him every chance from the good draw.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

Ascot 6/1 Market Stryke (8:00pm)

Market Stryke led all the way to win in emphatic style last start at this track and having finally broken through, the Simon Miller trained gelding looks well capable of going through his grades. Holly Watson should press forward on him and take all the catching.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

Pakenham 7/6 Son of Emperor (8:45pm)

Son of Emperor joins the Price/Kent stable from David Payne and if he can find some of his best form he should be too good. The lightly raced three year old typically leads in his races and at the very least should be somewhere on speed. His recent jumpout at Cranbourne was very good.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4/5
