Yachiyo looks primed to peak third up from a spell. The mare comes off a close up second last time at Moonee Valley where he fitness just gave out late. Third up and getting out to 1800m look ideal and she showed much more tactical speed last time, so hopefully she should be right on speed if not leading. With a fitness edge over She’s a Hustler – and a big weight swing – she can be too good late.

The gelding comes in off a different prep – he has been jumping this time, but won his last go over hurdles a month ago. He stays like a mother in law and the recent rain will only help his cause.

Lots of respect for Silver Magnate’s ability but even money from barrier 16 with the rail out 1400m seems a high risk proposition. On the other hand we know exactly where Catoggio will be – right on speed. He is incredibly well placed in any BM74 and is well worth the gamble off a solid recent trial win.
