Best Bet

4. Split
Ballarat R3 (1.15pm)

Split was a brilliant winner at his jumping debut, winning easily over the well fancied Farag, who confirmed the form with an impressive win in town next time out. The longer trip and wetter track will only suit this horse. Looks a class above.

Recommended Price: $1.60
Confidence Level: 5/5

4. Farag
Ballarat R4 (1.55pm)

Farag took his time to break his maiden but now he has the monkey off the back he can go on with the job. Like Split, he is an absolute wet tracker so the prospect of more rain only helps him. This looks a pretty thin edition of the JJ Houlahan and he can win again.

Recommended Price: $2.10
Confidence Level: 4/5

3. Leaderboard
Ballarat R6 (3.15pm)

Can’t really have Stern Idol off the back of his two failures at long trips so the value looks to lie with Leaderboard. He was a touch disappointing at Coleraine last week but this track is much more suitable for him. Concede Noonday Gun has a strong chance but at the odds, Leaderboard is the one to be on.

Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5
