Racing Tips – Sunday Best Bets for Hong Kong

The Hong Kong International Races are back and this year’s card has assembled some of the best horses from all over the world.

Best Bet

3. Glory Vase
Sha Tin R4 (5:10pm)

Glory Vase is looking for his third straight win in this Hong Kong Vase and while this field has perhaps more depth than the last two, the Japanese star can get it done once again. His form this year has been as good as ever, and and he reunites with the great Joao Moreira.

More Racing Tips

13. Meiki Yell
Sha Tin R5 (5:50pm)

Sticking with the Japanese runners with Meiki Yell. She was disappointing when favourite in the Group 1 Sprinters Stakes last time out but exceptional prior to that when posting back to back wins. While she will need to overcome the visitors draw, she has the services of James McDonald to assist.

Recommended Price: $9.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. California Spangle
Sha Tin R7 (7:00pm)

It’s tough to tip against the local star Golden Sixty but it would not shock if California Spangle turned the tables on the champ from their last start. California Spangle led and it took Golden Sixty an eternity to overhaul him late. There shouldn’t be near as much between them in the betting as there is in early markets.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

1. Panthalassa
Sha Tin R8 (7:40pm)

Excited to see what the bold front runner Panthalassa does here. He adopted Vo Rogue like tactics in the Tenno Sho last start – leading by a mile coming into the home straight – but was just nailed in the last stride. The gelding is a proven international performer having dead heated in the Dubai Turf earlier this year. Will lead for a long way.
