Subconscious is an American import who looks well placed here on his Australian debut. The Maher/Eustace trained five year old has some terrific form at home having been placing at Group 1 level and being a Group 2 winner. While the gelding has to contend with the 60Kg, he has jumped out nicely and has the ability to race on speed.

The 2022 Bagot Handicap looks the strongest edition for some time and the Sydney visitor Regal Lion can take it out. The gelding is a talented stayer on his day but has a preference for firm ground and he will most certainly get that here. He also gives every impression of running out the 2800m strongly and gets the services of Jamie Kah.
