This looks an excellent clash between two emerging three year olds in Taken and Dark Simba, no knock on the former but I am in the Dark Simba corner here. The weight rise for Taken is a concern and Dark Simba was just so impressive putting a margin late on his rivals last time at Mornington. I think he can be that little bit stronger when it counts.

St Lawrence is having his first start for new trainer Gavin Bedggood and I suspect he will be ready to go here off the back of some impressive recent jumpout form. The horse flies fresh (won four from five) and while he will need luck from barrier one, is certainly good enough if he gets it.

Fieldelo has been absolutely brilliant in her two career runs. She beat Sweethearted on debut at Kilmore, and following a spell resumed with a seven length romp three weeks ago at Bendigo.
