Revelare just keeps winning and looks a great bet to continue his brilliant record of eight wins from eleven starts. He faced a stern test at Flemington last time, stepping up from 2000 to 2500m but he still showed his trademark determination to win the Archer. Trainer Rob Hickmott will have him peaking on the first Tuesday in November, but he can go on with it here.

Sunset Park gets a great opportunity to break through coming back to Midway grade. She finally draws a gate in this company which is all important given the short run to the first turn over the 1800m trip at Randwick. Her form is very consistent and there should be nothing wrong with leading, especially this early in the day.

Kakkoii is bred to get over a trip and he certainly relished the step up in trip at Sale last start where he was a dominant all the way winner. He steps up in grade against the three year olds but looks terrific value based on the strength of that win, his pedigree and the fact that Blake Shinn has taken the ride.

Spicy Lu never looked comfortable last start at Caulfield but she should be much better suited on the big track at Flemington over a mile. She also tasted success when leading as a two year old so hopefully those tactics will be adopted again. If so, she will take a lot of catching against an even field of three year old fillies.

Loved the win of Pericles at his first start for new trainer Bjorn Baker and he looks a great bet in this year’s Epsom. Remember, he was beaten less than a length in the Doncaster in the autumn with 55.5Kg and this doesn’t look as strong. The gelding draws perfectly and it’s hard to see him not being in the finish.

The margin wasn’t big but the effort of Sir Delius to win the Underwood Stakes last start was remarkable given he didn’t handle Caulfield whatsoever. He looked a beaten horse at the top of the straight but somehow rallied to win. He has to step up to take on the likes of Via Sistina, Antino and company but his European form said he was a star, and he can continue living up to that here.

There is getting away from the fact that Vauban was flat out disappointing here last start, but conversely, if he was coming into the Metropolitan second up he would be favourite off the back of an excellent first up run in the Chelmsford behind Lindermann and the aforementioned Sir Delius. He has a massive class edge if he can recapture his best form.
