Would have liked to have seen more out of Hiyaam Proud first up at Bendigo but prepared to give him another chance becsuse he will strip fitter for that and his best form is right there with the favourites. Should be able to slot in three wide with cover and hopefully he shows us his best finish.

Surf’s Up last start reads eighth but she should have finished way closer at Flemington. Everywhere James McDonald went the runs closed on her but her last 100m was excellent. Probably needs the favourite My Gladiola to produce a sub par run but if she does, she is right there as a winning chance.
