Saturday’s racing comes from Moonee Valley where the Group 1 Moir Stakes is the feature, while up at Randwick the Concorde Stakes and Chelmsford Stakes have attracted strong fields.

Amelia’s Jewel looks primed for a win at her first start for the Archibald/Neasham stable. The winner of nine races and more than $3.4 million was kept to 1200m races last prep and she ran admirably, but the 1400m she gets to here is her ideal trip. The mare has a brilliant first up record and has been trialling nicely. Expect her to run over the top of them late.

Evaporate was a dominant winner last time at this track and with an even more winnable race here should be too strong. Despite covering plenty of ground last time the gelding ran away from his rivals to win easily. Mick Dee can position closer in the run here and he should relish the extra trip.

Changingoftheguard is a highly touted import who looks capable of sharp improvement with a run under his belt and stepping up to 2400m. He was a seriously talented galloper in the UK, finishing fifth in the Epsom Derby and the booking of James McDonald who retains the ride is a strong push.

Last year’s winner Remarque looks to be the overlooked runner in this year’s Concorde Stakes. The gelding was unplaced in two autumn runs but wasn’t far away in either. His trial form leading into this is good and his ability to race right on the speed is a big advantage in this 1000m contest.

Public Attention was a tremendous debut winner back in June and looks primed here on resumption. The Price/Kent trained colt had no favours in the run at Caulfield but was incredibly brave, even running away from his rivals late in a race that has produced two subsequent winners. He will get every chance here from barrier two.

Attrition signalled with an excellent first up run in Adelaide that he may be back to his best form, and that is certainly good enough to contend here. Last year’s Toorak winner had a forgettable autumn and didn’t even trial particularly well, but he flew home first up in the Leon Macdonald Stakes to just miss. If he can bring that form here he can cause an upset.
