Francesco Guardi is looking for three straight wins and looks well placed to achieve it. The Waller trained gelding does everything right in his races, and should get the right run once again here. Happy to risk Lord Ardmore jumping from 1300m to 1800m off five weeks break and Comme Bella Fille’s racing pattern makes her a lay.

Forget his latest effort on heavy ground in the Caloundra Cup, there was very little between him and the short priced favourite Through Irish Eyes in the Brisbane Cup. On a firmer surface, he can bounce back.

Alcyone has a terrific fresh record which he can build on here. The Godolphin galloper was dominant first up last spring in a handy form race and last time he raced at this sort of trip he finished second behind Mr Brightside. Hugh Bowman should give him the perfect run from barrier two.

Squid Game is a dominant favourite here but his racing pattern is problematic. He will be giving them a big start over 1000m. One horse that will not be giving away a start is Miss Dior. The Sydney filly will go to the front from the outside draw and coming back 100m in distance from her first up run looks ideal. Can go close at big odds.

Incredulous Dream has always had plenty of ability and the booking of Jamie Kah is a primer to a big first up run. She has jumped out very well for this and typically runs a big race first up (4:2-1-0). Looks an excellent each way chance.
