Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Flemington and Rosehill

Betseeker has you covered for free expert horse racing tips and best bets atĀ Flemington and Rosehill.

Group 1 racing returns to Flemington for the running of the Makybe Diva Stakes while at Rosehill the Run to the Rose for the three year olds is the highlight.

Best Bet

1. Mr Brightside
Flemington R8 (4.20pm)

Mr Brightside was beaten first up in the Memsie Stakes but he should have lost no admirers there. The gelding was conceding race fitness to the ultimate victor, Pinstriped, but it was only very late that he got the better of him. Second up tends to see the best of Brightside and he will get the right run here from barrier four. Via Sistina, the likely favourite, may find herself in an awkward spot from barrier one.

Recommended Price: $2.70
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

5. Moonhaven
Flemington R1 (12.10pm)

Moonhaven looks a huge price in the first. He was a brilliant winner here two starts ago and the five length defeat at the hands of Mornington Glory doesn’t look so bad now. He is much better suited here than the Valley and should be storming home late.

Recommended Price: $13
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. Post Impressionist
Flemington R5 (2.30pm)

Post Impressionist was well held first up here five weeks ago but shapes as a big improver at his second run in. The gelding has shown ample ability, winning a Group 3 in Sydney by four lengths at his Australian debut back in the autumn and being set for the Cups, he should have lots of natural improvement into this.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

1. Mayfair
Rosehill R7 (3.25pm)

Expecting the San Domenico Stakes form to be the key to the three year old races, starting with Mayfair in the Ming Dynasty. The gelding chased home stablemate Storm Boy there and there was absolutely no shame in finishing second. He should relish the 1400m and have the chance to lead here.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

2. Storm Boy
Rosehill R8 (4.00pm)

Storm Boy was a brilliant two year old and showed that he has come back just as well at three. He was a dominant all the way winner first up in the San Domenico and I expect by this time of day that form will have held up through Mayfair. Can win this en route to bigger things.

Recommended Price: $2.00
Confidence Level: 5/5

4. Ostraka
Rosehill R10 (5.15pm)

Ostraka is a lightly raced four year old who has seemingly improved with every start and looks primed for a win here first up. The gelding was last seen putting a strong field to the sword over the Queensland winter carnival and his recent trials suggest he is primed to resume here with a win.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
