Revolutionary Miss was enormous at her first start for new trainer Ciaron Maher at Caulfield, storming home to finish third over 1200m. The winner of more than $1.5m in prizemoney, she is a class act on her day and particularly well placed here under set weights and penalties, being the highest rated runner in the field by some margin.

Happy to play Moor Mumm here each way at a big price. The mare excels down the straight and barrier one may prove to be an advantage at this time of day. Hard not to be impressed by Moby Dick last time but he is far shorter here. In an even race aside from him, Moor Mumm looks nice value.

Mazu has come up attractive odds in the Premiere Stakes. The gelding was good first up over 1100m against a similar field and he maps to get a nice run on the speed from barrier three, in a race where many of the key chances will get back in the run. Right in this.

Manzoice is back over the 2500m at Flemington for the first time since he won the VRC Derby two years ago. He also comes back in his best form since that time, coming off two good runs in NSW, most recently an unlucky third in the Wyong Cup. The booking of Joao Moreira is a nice pushed and he was scratched from Sydney to run here instead.

Land Legend is an emerging stayer who looks superbly placed in this year’s Metropolitan. A dominant winner of the St Leger here 12 months ago, he put the writing on the wall with a strong last start sixth in the Kingston Town, which looks the strong formline for this race. With just 51Kg he should press forward and take a lot of beating.

Place Du Carrousel was sent out favourite in the Underwood Stakes first up but never got into the race. Happy to overlook that run as she is really well placed here if she can find her best form, with just 55Kg, and getting a nice swing on a number of horses she met last time. Ben Melham will give her every chance from barrier four.

Nugget ran an enormous race in the Doncaster earlier this year and no doubt will have been long set for the other Group 1 handicap mile at Randwick. He did enough first up in the Tramway and comes in well with 54Kg. Ciaron Maher’s ability to get horses to peak on a given day shouldn’t be underestimated.
