Best Bet
Foxicon is a highly promising mare that looks set to break through at black type level. The Peter Moody trained mare has won four of her last five, a dominant victory at Sandown in slick time the most recent. As far as Group 3 races go, you won’t find many easier and from barrier four she will get every chance.

Brigantine is remarkably well placed here in a Class 3 set weights race. With an official rating of 93, he is a black type level horse yet he gets in here with only 59Kg. Expect him to get back, but the Godolphin gelding should be far too good for his rivals late.
Recommended Price: $1.80
Confidence Level: 5/5
King’s Crossing is not the most consistent customer but he is talented. Last start in Adelaide was woeful, but his run prior to that at Geelong when finishing second was excellent against the bias. Worth a bet at double figure odds – he is a horse that can bounce back from a poor run.
Recommended Price: $7.50

Moya Lass produced an excellent trial for this when sixth in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks. She was back, wide and ran through the line strongly. She gives every impression that the 2500m will suit and that can prove the telling factor in race with several runners suspect at the trip.

If something is to upset the favourite Zaaki in this year’s Doomben Cup, it might the three year old Kovalica. The Chris Waller trained gelding has won five of seven and his last start win in the Queensland Guineas was a career best effort. While he was scratched from last week with an abscess, there is no reason to think he won’t be at his best.
Recommended Price: $9.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
Dark Destroyer is a class act and the Kiwi is capable of winning first up. The entire had a great campaign in Queensland last winter and in his only start since, won a Group 1 on the other side of the Tasman. Expect him to get back in the run but they will go hard here and he should be flying home.
Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5
Zoutori somehow gets in with 54.5Kg in this year’s Goodwood, despite being a Group 1 winner and a multiple Group 2 winner. His first up run wasn’t that bad and he drops 7.5Kg into this. Given he will likely get a lovely run from barrier two, at good double figure odds he is a nice bet to turn back the the clock.
Recommended Price: $8.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
