Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Darwin, Moonee Valley and Rosehill

Darwin is on the dirt, while Moonee Valley will be soft and Rosehill heavy.

Best Bet

3. Jimmy The Bear
Moonee Valley R7 (4:30pm)

Jimmy The Bear is in superb form and can win again. The Patrick Payne gelding won two straight at Flemington before running second to the very talented Daytona Bay a fortnight ago. He had every possible there but gave every impression of wanting 1600m, a trip he gets today. If Billy Egan has any luck early from barrier eight, he should be winning.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

1. Lovely Esteem
Rosehill R4 (1:15pm)

Lovely Esteem is an Irish import who looks primed to record her first Australian win here at Rosehill. Loved the way she hit the line behind Alcyone last start and back against mares, this race is much more suitable. Jmac rides and will give her every chance – likely sitting closer in the run – from barrier two.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

6. Mimi's Award
Moonee Valley R5 (3:10pm)

Mimi’s Award has been knocking on the door to win a race and gets her chance here. The Hayes trained mare has placed at her last three starts, in races a little stronger than this. There looks decent speed here so if she can slot in early forward of midfield, she will be in the perfect spot. The 2Kg claim for Josh Richards will help as well.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

7. Cyclone Sally
Moonee Valley R6 (3:50pm)

If the track was heavy then this would be in best bet territory but nonetheless I think she can still win. Cyclone Sally looks the clear leader here and that is always a big advantage around the Valley. She has been racing very well of late and bumped into a star last time in Cross Talk. Great bet at almost double figure odds.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

8. Easy Beast
Darwin R7 (5:34pm)

Loved Easy Beast’s Darwin debut and he can claim the 2022 Palmerston Sprint. In his first run in the top end he looked like he would drop out and run last before rallying really well to fly home and finish second. Horses typically improve significantly for their first run up there and if he can get back to his best form, he should prove awfully hard to beat.

Recommended Price: $4.20
Confidence Level: 4/5

8. Lord Domino
Moonee Valley R9 (5:40pm)

Lord Domino was a forgive run last time down the straight over 1000m. This looks a much more suitable assignment. There looks plenty of speed here but of course being Moonee Valley you want to be looking at horses that won’t get too far back. Lord Domino just might end up with the perfect run here and his prior form is good enough to be right in this.
