Sent out favourite in the Listed Eye Liner at Ipswich last start, where he ran a terrific third without much luck. The wide draw suits and Ryan Moloney should come over the top of them late.

I’ve been a fan of this filly since her first start, where she flew home to run third in the Blue Diamond Preview at Sandown. Two creditable runs followed, before a spell, and she resumes here with Damien Oliver up. I like the booking of the senior rider, if he can get her to get away quicker – as she has in her jumpouts – expect her to take plenty of beating.

Ella Te Ama looks ideally placed here third up. Trainer Kris Lees has switched her north after two very good runs in Sydney to kick off her prep. With just 57Kg under the set weights here – and the ideal barrier draw – she should take plenty of beating.

So Sleek put the writing on the wall with a good run at Flemington last start and gets into his ideal race here. A good maiden winner two starts back at Bendigo over a mile, he stepped up to 2000m last start and closed off well, finishing a narrow second. If he can have some luck from barrier one, he should be winning this.

Malkovich does his best racing fresh and if he brings that best form, should be hard to beat here. Trainer Bjorn Baker – whose stable is flying of late – gave him a short break after his last start in Queensland and his subsequent trial indicates we are ready to see him put in a peak performance.
