Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Caulfield

Caulfield Racing Tips

The spring carnival draws to a close at Caulfield on Saturday with ten races to be run and plenty of rain forecast.

Best Bet

12. Alma Rise
Caulfield R3 (1.25pm)

Alma Rise steps up to 2500m and she does so in terrific form having posted very good back to back wins, firstly at Moe then last time at Flemington over the carnival. The trip won’t pose any problems for her, any rain will be in her favour, and she draws to get the right run. Strong race, but she is a real talent and can go on with it.

More Racing Tips

11. Easy Dun
Caulfield R1 (12.20pm)

Easy Dun has been a bit disappointing this prep but in his defence not a lot has gone right. He steps up in class here but drops significantly in weight, if he can get the breaks from barrier one he is well in this race, especially if the rain comes.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

8. Garza Blanca
Caulfield R5 (2.35pm)

Garza Blanca had no luck whatsoever first up at Flemington, firstly being in the wrong division when they split down the straight, then being held up for clear running at a critical time. He should have at least placed and could have won. He will only strip fitter for that and finds an ideal assignment second up.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

1. Bittercreek
Caulfield R6 (3.10pm)

The last time Bittercreek got over a mile he ran second to star colt Broadsiding in the G1 JJ Atkins. His last two starts have both been in Group 1 company and this is a fairly ordinary Group 2. Looks nice value to defeat the favourite Pisces.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

9. Keats
Caulfield R7 (3.45pm)

This tip is really contingent on the rain having arrived by this point but if it does then Keats is a huge winning chance. He loves wet ground as he showed in Moe last month leading all the way to win the Cup on very heavy going. Recent form has been solid enough to suggest he can find his best again on wet.

6. Berkeley Square
Caulfield R8 (4.25pm)

Berkeley Square steps up in class nominally but the reality is that most of his rivals in the Zipping Classic have very much found their mark. He comes off very good runs in the Bendigo Cup and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and prospect of getting on to wet ground is in his favour as he has won both starts on heavy. Big chance.
