Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Ascot and Cranbourne

Betseeker has you covered for free expert horse racing tips and best bets at Ascot and Cranbourne.

Over in Perth it’s the biggest raceday of the year, Railway Stakes day, while at Cranbourne the Cup is the highlight, alongside the $1m Meteorite.

Best Bet

2. King of Enterprise
Cranbourne R2 (12.50pm)

King of Enterprise comes out of the Carbine Club Stakes which is the outstanding form reference going into this with the quinella having filled 1-2 in the G1 Thousand Guineas last week and a filly he beat home, Canara, giving a field windburn at the Valley last night. He certainly looks like a horse that will relish the 2000m plus.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

2. Overactive
Cranbourne R4 (2.00pm)

Overactive has never won under 2300m but the Freedman stable have managed to extract much sharper performances out of him this time in, most recently chasing home Rey Magnerio and half the Meteorite field at Flemington. This is a huge class drop and he should get the right trip from barrier five.

Recommended Price: $3.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

6. Reigning King
Cranbourne R5 (2.35pm)

Reigning King comes down from Sydney where he has won three of his last four starts at the provincials. Blessed with plenty of early toe, he should be able to hold the lead here from barrier one and will take much more catching than the market appears to think.

Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. Baraqiel
Cranbourne R8 (4.25pm)

Baraqiel looks a very worthy favourite in the inaugural running the Meteorite. His form coming into this is another level to his rivals, having won brilliantly at Moonee Valley two back before running a respectable race in the G1 Champions Sprint. Just needs a little luck early to be winning.

Recommended Price: $2.80
Confidence Level: 4/5

8. Air Assault
Cranbourne R9 (5.00pm)

South Aussie visitor Air Assault looks a strong chance in this year’s Cranbourne Cup. Damian Lane should fire him straight to the front here and a strongly run mile is right up his alley as he showed when winning the Balaklava Cup. With just 54.5Kg he looks well weighted.

Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

5. Light Infantry Man
Ascot R8 (7.56pm)

Light Infantry Man was a serious Group 1 horse in Europe and trainer Ciaron Maher looks to have got him back to his best off the back of his brilliant win in the Chester Manifold at Flemington last time. James McDonald comes back from Hong Kong to ride him in the Railway and from barrier two he should get all the favours.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5
