The Country Championship preview is a pretty strong race naturally but Cambar is a real talent. The three year old won his first three starts before running fifth in a particularly strong Highway at Randwick last time out. From barrier four with the claim for Durnan he can make it win four at start five.

Very thin race here with trainer Ben Brisbourne having the first two in betting. Suspect Darn Hot Miss is the pick of them off the back of a couple of solid runs in Victoria, most recently a fourth placing at Kyneton. The booking of Blaike McDougall is a strong push.

Loved the way that Guru Two hit the line here when dropping in distance back from his prior maiden win over 1400m to 1200m here. Ideally would prefer him back at 1400m but the 1300m should be okay if jockey Nick Souquet can get him out a bit quicker from barrier five. Will be stronger than anything else late.
