Racing Tips – Monday Best Bets for Pakenham

Warrnambool - Expert Horse Racing Tips

Betseeker has you covered for free expert horse racing tips and best bets at Pakenham.

The track has come up a Soft 7 on Monday morning with the prospect of more rain to come.

Best Bet

Pakenham 5/5 Budd Fox (2:55pm)

I’ve had a good opinion of Budd Fox since he broke his maiden hurdle at this meeting last year, beating – narrowly – Out and Dreaming. He is going as well as ever on the flat as well. Heberite is a really nice jumping prospect and I might be tipping him if this race was run at Warrnambool, but here on a track where good flat ability is paramount, Budd Fox all the way.

Recommended Price: $2.30
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

Pakenham 1/6 Pueblo & 8 Zedstar (12:25pm)

UPDATE: With the track coming up wetter than expected Zedstar is definitely worth a play at the $6.50 or $7 on offer.

This is the more open of the maiden hurdles and keen to be with Pueblo, although he is well enough found in the market. His flat form has been very solid of late and he’s placed at all three of his jumps starts, including behind some pretty smart ones such as Light Pillar and Wil John. Zedstar the major danger.

Recommended Price: $3.50/4.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

Pakenham 3/5 Roland Garros (1:40pm)

UPDATE: New bet.

Roland Garros is an excellent bet now the track has come up wet. You don’t need to be a genius to recognise that Hush Writer’s record on soft and heavy ground is awful. 17 starts, one win. Class wise, I doubt there is much between them so on Roland Garros’ preferred going he is an outstanding bet at $4.60 and I expect him to start much shorter.

Recommended Price: $3.20
Confidence Level: 4/5

Pakenham 4/5 Out and Dreaming (2:15pm)

Out and Dreaming can upset Saunter Boy here. He is going better than ever on the flat and that’s super encouraging because as a five year old this season he should only be a better jumper. Trial form has been excellent and he gets a big weight advantage. Crucially, he has form at this track which is critical.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Pakenham 6/2 Riding High (3:35pm)

UPDATE: The wet ground is bad news for the favourite Britannicus who doesn’t handle it. Riding High has a mixed record on wet ground, his heavy form isn’t good (albeit mostly a long time ago) but he won’t be impacted nearly as much as Britannicus. On balance, the recommended price and confidence level stays as is. Zed Em a bit more of a chance now but still don’t like him at Pakenham.

Riding High has an outstanding record at this track and is really well weighted with 65Kg. His recent flat form suggests he is going as well as ever. Britannicus is the danger, but I think he is better suited to a track like Warrnambool. Zed Em is a lay, much as I love the horse, he is not well suited around Pakenham, wait for the Bool with him.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4/5
