Rustic Steel has been enormously advantaged by the relocation of Saturday’s meeting to his home track. The Kris Lees trained gelding was in terrific form anyway, having won the Provincial Championships Qualifier here last start. Ideally drawn, he should take a power of beating.

Angel of Truth looks to be going as well as ever, having placed at Group 1 level at his last two starts. He is a true stayer and an absolute mudlark. The X-factor here is the blinkers going on for the first time. They may improve him, they may hinder him, but at big odds it’s worth the gamble to find out.

Pink Ivory was a dominant winner last start at Newcastle and is starting to live up to her pedigree, being by stout staying influence Redwood out of star filly Lotteria. There is some projection involved here but she is going the right way and can go close at big odds.

Gravina brings Shelby Sixtysix form here which just looks better and better. The Godolphin galloper flies on wet ground and the slight increase in trip looks ideal. They should be getting out wide by this time of day and the race shape suits.
