The two day Scone carnival commences with the running of the big one, the Scone Cup. The track is rated good and conditions ideal.
Best Bet
Poisen Point looks beautifully placed here at Scone down in class. The Brett Robb trained mare ran fourth in the Country Championships final two starts ago, before getting beaten just over a length in BM78 company last time at Pakenham. She comes back 200m which should do no harm and the wide draw is likely no disadvantage by this time of day.

More Racing Tips
Local trainer Paul Messara always has a strong hand at this carnival and he can get another winner here with this debutant Cormier. The son of Maurice has been most impressive at the trials, especially his dominant all the way win at Muswellbrook last time when he won by more than five lengths. There is good depth to this two year old race but he can make a winning debut.
Recommended Price: $3.70
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
Encap doesn’t win out of turn but he does look well placed here in the Scone Cup. There two duck eggs on his recent form but they were in the George Ryder and Doncaster – he showed he is still going well with a terrific second at Randwick to Hellsing subsequent to that. The pace here should be on and he can fly home late. Each way.
Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5
