Smokin’ Princess looks beautifully placed in this race off the quick back up. The mare was beaten a nose in the Golden Mile at Bendigo last week and the six day lead in, the step up to 2100m and the extra trip are all ideal for her. She draws perfectly and showed a lot more speed than she normally does. Ticks every possible box.

Palace Green certainly did enough on his Australian debut to suggest he can be hard to beat getting out to 2100m here which is a more suitable trip. He chased home Dillinger there who won again in town on Wednesday. Henry Dwyer trialled him between runs and the booking of John Allen is a plus.

They are going to go like scolded cats in this $500K 1000m race and that can suit Joyful Fortune. He has drawn wide, but if Ethan Brown can settle him down three wide with cover, that should be the ideal place to sit and pounce. He certainly showed he was back to his best with a strong win at Flemington last start.
Recommended Price: $4.60

Bank Maur is a very talented horse who should have won more than three races but he gets a chance for a deserved win in the Apache Cat Classic on resumption here. Now gelded, he should sit outside Red Phantom here and can hopefully wear him down late. First up last prep here nearly beat Another Wil and Here De Shock – both Group 1 winners since.
Recommended Price: $5.50
