Bide Your Time looks an outstanding bet in this year’s Albury Guineas. The Goulburn trained three year is the veteran of just three starts, the most recent a close second placing at Rosehill in a Highway off the back of a short freshen. He was coming again on the line suggesting 1400m is ideal. This is a handy enough edition but I marked him favourite.

Connections of Poison Chalice will be hoping the track comes thick and fast because it is simply a superior wet tracker. When last seen on heavy ground he was narrowly beaten in the G3 Eclipse at Caulfield in the spring. He comes off a close up fourth in G2 company at Flemington last time and has the class to give weight in this field.
