Racing Tips – Friday Best Bets for Moonee Valley

Moonee Valley generic

Racing on Friday is at Moonee Valley, and with the rail out seven metres it should favour leaders and on pace runners even more than usual.

Best Bet

3. Keats
Moonee Valley R4 (6:45pm)

Keats has been a revelation since joining the Gavin Bedggood stable for his last two runs, winning brilliantly at Sale before running fourth on unsuitably heavy going last time at Moonee Valley. Getting out to 2040m looks ideal and this is a thin race. Critically, Craig Williams should be able to lead despite the wide draw.

Recommended Price: $2.80

More Racing Tips

6. I Am War
Moonee Valley R2 (5:45pm)

I Am War has struck a rich vein of form and can make it three on the bounce here at the Valley. The Trevor Andrews trained gelding is a noted leader which is a big advantage around this track, especially given the rail placement. Carleen Hefel should go straight to the front and take a power of running down.

Recommended Price: $3.80
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

6. Bell Ex One
Moonee Valley R5 (7:15pm)

Bell Ex One returns to the flat after a brilliant win over hurdles last start and the imported galloper can win again. The five year old’s last flat run in Ireland was a win before he started hurdling so he should still have some upside. 3000m here is perfect and he should be able to race on speed.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

10. Bubble Palace
Moonee Valley R7 (8:15pm)

Prepared to forgive Bubble Palace’s first up effort in much stronger company down the straight – this is a much more suitable affair. The filly showed blinding early speed as a two year old, suggesting the 955m here will be right up her alley. Harry Coffey should press forward and take all the catching.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

5. No Surrender
Moonee Valley R9 (9:15pm)

No Surrender looks over the odds here. The Jack Laing trained gelding has been a model of consistency lately, with a win and three seconds from his last four starts. His most recent effort, when dropping from 1400m to 1000m, was probably the pick of the lot and bodes well for getting out to 1200m here. Should press forward and be fighting out the finish.

Recommended Price: $9.00/3.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
